I spent the morning at Torrey Pines State Beach, just north of San Diego. It is a great place for a hike, swim, snooze or sketch. The contrast of the movement of the sea and swimmers to this napping couple with the small umbrella caught my eye and I got several sketches of them. Today I had an easier time seeing the variety of lines I could use to show the sea, dunes, street and bluff and I was more aware of the possibilities.
