Love That Tonka Truck!

This is another sketch based on photos I took of my sister’s grandchildren. Getting beyond the single unmoving moment of a photograph is a challenge. I think I did better putting a sense of motion into this one.

  2. I’m finding it interesting how you are finding working from photos. I don’t see any diminution of your ability to portray a living scene in these at all. As a note I always work from photos. I don’t enjoy working from real life as I don’t seem to focus well. but I like taking photos and staying on the move. When I settle down to draw from them i relive the experience and I love the feeling of concentration and immersion in the process I get. So I’ve been enjoying this art journey you are on.
