Waiting to Kayak

Something locals and tourists enjoy in the San Diego area is kayaking along the caves of the La Jolla Ecological Reserve and Underwater Park. You can rent a kayak and go out with a guide for a few hours. Last Thursday, I painted several groups of people waiting to kayak to the caves and back. I liked the patterns the figures and paddles made against the sky, sea, and sand.

Wow – love the contrast of sunlight and shade on the figures and sand, plus the lovely shades of turquoise and blue of the sea!
