Body Language and Facial Expression

I took the sketch I posted yesterday and reworked it, to tell the story of the interaction between the barista and the customer more expressively. I had the customer turn his head in a more flirtatious angle. His hands are clasped hopefully. I put the barista further away and bent her arm backward, as though to suggest reservation. I kept more white in the sketch and used a pen that bleeds when wet, hoping to get some movement from that effect. I also changed the background color, using yellow to show warmth around the customer and blue to show the barista’s reservation. While I did succeed in a more expressive sketch, the barista’s expression is too subtle for my goal of clear communication of a story.
