This is another sketch from Friday night and a continuation of a focus on telling a story about the interaction of people in a group. Arms say a lot about the intention of speakers and the reception of the idea under discussion by listeners and I used the three sets of arms to indicate this. It was a lively discussion and the trio shifted their arms and bodies as they got involved in the ideas. I had to be patient and wait for just the right moment to draw each person.
I have been using my the camera on my phone to transfer my sketches from my sketchbook to my computer and blog. Tonight I scanned in my sketch and the clarity is much greater than the versions from a photo. I plan to switch to scanning from now on.


I love the soft colors of this one. They blend together very nicely and the woman’s rich brown hair stands out. The men look serious, considerate, and maybe slightly concerned by the subject.
