Our Friend Paolo

Our friend Paolo is a great conversationalist. He likes to think, dispute and resolve issues of every kind. He has a very nice way of listening to what others say and then responding to it. He holds very still, keeps his eyes on the speaker and seems to think about what is being said. When the speaker ends, or sometimes just pauses, Paolo interjects something like, “You may be right, but…” and then Paolo begins to wave his hands and explain his take on the topic under discussion.

In this sketch I caught a bit of Paolo in his listening phase. He is leaning back into his chair, has his hands on his legs and his eyes on the speaker. He is not talking, his arms are not gesturing, but his facial expression foreshadows a bit of how he will respond to the speaker’s words.

This is an iPad/ Procreate sketch.
