My friend gave me a gorgeous bouquet of hollyhocks. It is not a flower we see much of out here in California, and every time I passed them today I kept thinking how much fun they would be to paint. I finally gave in and am so glad I did!

Wonderful line work and color, Sarah!

Haven’t the faintest about what hollyhocks are but I like your colours. (I generally do. You have your own way/style about colours)
Cheers

Thank! It is odd how differently we all see and show color.

More than you think. I’m slightly colour blind. One of 3 varieties of the thing. Some are totally colour blind, can’t see a strawberry on green grass. I had a friend like that. His wife chose his tie every morning. Me? I can’t differentiate certain greens form certain browns. Your typical military green? I see it brown. When I have a doubt, I have to put the two colours side by side in the sunlight, and maybe I can see a difference. My wife can’t understand how I don’t see the difference. Anyway, what I think is that what you see as red, is probably slightly different from the way the same red is een by somebody else. Number of cones in the eye.
Cheers.

I read your comment to my husband who, to my surprise, agrees with you. This is an interesting thought for me, thank you for the observation.

Your husband is a man if taste and wisdom. 🙂
Now, obviously the perceived differences for any given red must be minute for most people. But think of fashion, some designers must have a more acute colour vision than other people.
Cheers.
