I live near a coffee house that is a haven for readers and has air conditioning and great coffee besides. This afternoon I tucked my small 8 X 8-inch sketchbook into my purse and set off for a few hours of sketching. I had a terrific seat in the corner and the good luck of being near a table where two separate groups came and stayed awhile. I like these two sketches because I think I caught the look of readers absorbed in the words of others.
