I have been going through my sketchbook from my recent trip to Guatemala and finishing up some of the sketches I made on the trip. Here is one I made of a paddle boarder on a windy Lake Atitlán. I changed the sketch mostly by emphasizing the pattern in the water and the shape of the waves in the foreground.
Wow! Beautiful texture and colors!

A nice one.
You know there are a dozen or so villages around the lake, and the women in each village have a different huipil and headdress, and they speak different dialects?

It is pretty incredible, the more I learned, the more impressive it seemed. Not a melting pot sort of thing at all.
