Corn and Peas in a Pot

I have never grown corn or peas before and, although I can see now that these plants might have been happier in the ground, I love the way they look together in this cloth pot.

    There’s something in the standing-up-but-droopy pattern of the leaves, or maybe it’s relationship to the background (and the sensation of grey-plus-distance I have about the background), that would make this sketch feel at home in a fairy tale for me.
