An abundance of flowers and plants is such a delight. This is my second sketch from the San Diego Horticulture Society’s Spring Tour, and I focused on a beautiful agave. I liked how the surrounding flowers accentuated its long leaves and crowded them much closer than they really were.
Another beautiful painting with a wonderful, yummy palette, strong lines and a springtime feeling!

The agave is such a beautiful color, and it is clearly the star without overwhelming everyone else. I’d love to visit this location, you have presented it with such appeal.

Someday you will have to visit. San Diego has endless places to paint.

I’ve been to San Diego twice. One included a weeklong hospital stay for my husband, and the other was on our honeymoon 35 years ago. It could be time for an update!

I am hungry for color, I redid my pocket palette with bright primaries for this trip.

I admire you. I use the same colours my parents used around 15 years ago… The watercolours are still “working”. Some barely, but I don’t use many colours anyway…
Bright primaries sound like a must. Lots of light.
