Saturday Morning at El Monte Park

El Monte Park was the San Diego Watercolor Society’s June Paintout location, a perfect place for artists, walkers, and dogs to enjoy a morning together.

The contrast between the shaded oak grove and the sunny field caught my eye, and I chose a composition that emphasized this difference.

This composition works so well. The trio is embraced by the trees. The dog is so dog like, intent and leading with his/her nose. And the foreground shadow color being repeated in the background draws us into that magical forest. Nice!

Well done. Artists, walkers and dogs sounds like a good combination for peace.
