I took many photos earlier this week for still-life references. I love this time of year, with the rich colors of the winter holidays.

I love still life painting, the French word is Nature morte, one of the few times when the English sounds better. Thanks.

Hi Terry, thank you for sharing about ‘Nature morte.’ I agree with your take on how it sounds. But now that I think about it, the phrase ‘still life’ is also a bit odd.

That is true, especially there are ofte paintings of nothing that was ever alive, go figure.
