Artists on the Rocks

We were sketching at Torrey Pines during the golden hour when the shadows get long and the sun casts an orange glow on everything. The artists perched on boulders and worked away, recording the moment. Later, I did this piece from a photo. I liked the interplay of the boulders, shadows, and people.

  1. Yes, me too. It’s almost as if the people and the rocks are one organism.

And the sketchers look like Sullivans to me! It was a golden hour and you captured it! The rocks cradle the artists and protect them. AL

So beautiful! I love how the artists are draped across the rocks and the dramatic colors.
