I painted with the California Art Club and the San Diego Urban Sketchers last Saturday to support the San Diego Bird Alliance and UC San Diego Natural Reserve System’s efforts to preserve the wetlands on the northeast side of Mission Bay. I finished this one at home a few days later.

I really like this one

I immediately wanted to go there, but dressed in many layers! It is quiet, peaceful and filled with anticipated birds and birds. There is just a hint of warmth in the cloud layer which gives hope for a nice day. Nicely done! AL

This is beautiful! It sounds like such a nice experience. I like the palette of colors you used.

I tried first with an underpainting of Shiva orange casein, thinking it would be awesome with some orange peeking through, like what you do. But I need more practice before I can do it with a subtle scene.

Next time you are in town, Annie, we should paint there.
