Two Vases, Side by Side

I was in the kitchen, changing the water in a few vases. It was early, and the sun came through the window, illuminating the water in the vase on the left. I liked the contrast to the opaque vase on the right, so I took several photos, which I used for this small gouache painting.

    I love the abstract nature of this image. It works as a real scene and an abstract set of shapes. That’s so hard to do to get both perspectives at one time. Just wonderful.
