Walking the Dog: I painted this at an urban park in San Diego, but wanting to focus on the figure and dog, did not include the soccer goals or the trolley that runs through it. Now, it looks more like a setting in the Rocky Mountains than a California city park.

This painting has a nice sense of depth. I like the golden highlights in the flowering shrub and at the upper edge of the grassy area.

Thank you, Claudia. It took me several days to post this one because the red shirt initially seemed too contrasty, and I was wondering about changing it to turquoise. But the red slowly grew on me.
