Zig-Zags of Florida Canyon

I love standing in the Cactus Garden at San Diego’s Balboa Park and looking across to Florida Canyon. Those zig-zags on the hiking path catch my eye—and those ambitious hikers catch my eye, too! We are in the midst of our dry season, and the canyon’s colors are subdued and strongly textured, making for a fun painting challenge.

  2. I just love this. You’ve totally captured the feeling of heat and light and that trail snaking through the scene. Wow!

Really nice. I love how you expressed the variety of textures and I get the “dry season” you mention. The contrast between that and the ocean in the distance is very interesting as part of the composition. Love it!
