Purim ‘Butterflies’ on Jaffa Street
Today Jerusalem celebrated Purim, a religious holiday that involves costumes and fun. We went downtown with the crowds and hung out, admiring the costumes and enjoying the festivities.
This is a composite sketch. I combined the parts of several sketches that best conveyed the joyful spirit of the day. I loved the two dancing butterflies in the foreground, the crowds, the slow moving light rail, and the way all of these come together on Jaffa Street.
I used a black marker with watercolor on multimedia paper.
