Three Giraffes and Three People
Continuing today to work with gouache, I went to the zoo in hopes of sketching people interacting with each other and the animals.
This time I used the studier Bristol paper, but fumbled a bit with managing the materials in an outdoor setting. I ended up sitting at a distance from the giraffes because I needed a surface to hold the paint. It was also challenging to let the opaque gouache paint tell the story instead of relying on a strong drawing that shows through the paint.
This is a pastel and gouache sketch on black Bristol paper.
