Poinsettia Season
The huge poinsettias are in the stores and that means it is time to bring a few home and paint them again. This is probably the first of several that I will sketch in the next month or so.
This is a 12 X 12- inch gouache sketch with some pastel lines.
Deliberate Sketching 
OMG, OMG – this is FAB! Love the variety and movement of ALL of the beautiful flower pedals and leaves. That one dark juicy green leaf at the bottom holds my heart, and the dark blue suggests mystery deep within the pot. Good Going Sarah!

Thank you Sheila, your comments always make me look again at my paintings. The dark blue does suggest mystery. And I was surprised by the juicy green leaf. I did not love it until I added the container, funny how much difference the surroundings can make.
