It was a wild and rainy day today here near Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the sheep who yesterday were at the far edge of their pasture were back in the center. It may be that with their heavy coats that a warm sunny day is too hot for them. In any case, some of the flock chomped away at the grass close to me and I was able to get this sketch between rain showers.
This is a 9 X 6 inch gouache sketch on black paper.
It is quite a name. I have misspelled it so many times searching for it on the map and so on. I think it is an alliance between the two old towns of Garmisch and Partenkirchen. It is a beautiful place, somewhat similar to Aspen Colorado.
Garmisch-Partenkirchen? There actually IS a real town by that name? 🙂

I’m sure both are. Haven’t been to either, but I can imagine based on the French Alps.

I’m just a little disappointed you didn’t begin the text with “It was a wild and wooly day….”
