Along the San Miguel River

Sketch of the San Miguel River by Sarah Sullivan

Along the San Miguel River

We have had rain most afternoons and the landscape is about as green as possible. Before the rain I biked along the San Miguel River Trail until I came to a particularly gorgeous spot. It seemed like the perfect location for a sketch about the abundance of greenery and the liveliness of the river in the height of summer.

This is a gouache sketch in a 12 X 12 inch Derwent sketchbook.

I love, love, love this sketch Sarah. The colors of the mountains, the strokes used on the trees, the delicate wind- tousled flowers and the movement of the water. You made the landscape come to life for me on this one!
