Along the Path at Torrey Pines
I was back at Torrey Pines State Nature Reserve this morning. It has been a long time since we have had rain in San Diego and the arid landscape is a lovely combination of yellows and browns.
I had some rice paper on hand and wondered how it would work with gouache. I prepared it with watercolor grounds, but even so, it buckled in a few spots.

You did some very successful work – Sarah. I like the changes in the sky and the trees (with greens-LOL) and the change in the horizon line as well. Really nice, did you use iPad? I packed up at 4pm…… NO traffic going home, cannot figure out why. Good Piece!!!

Thank you She, I used the iPad to help me think about the lights and darks, it is so quick to see problems once I see the black and white photo. I have changed it quite a bit since you saw it, but not for the better, I think.
